Our Story
JointEffort started with a personal experience. After his hip replacement in 2025, Justin found himself at home with a stack of discharge papers, a follow-up appointment in six weeks, and a lot of uncertainty in between.
Is this amount of pain normal? Am I doing these exercises right? When should I actually call my doctor? The questions were constant, but the support was sparse.
He talked with his surgeon Dr. Jessica Hooper, an orthopedic surgeon at a leading West Coast teaching hospital who saw the same gap from the other side — patients struggling between visits, unsure what was normal, calling with questions that could have been answered proactively.
Justin built JointEffort: a daily companion that gives patients the structure, guidance, and reassurance they need — with Dr. Hooper's clinical guidance built in from day one.
JointEffort is developed by Gracecliff LLC, based in California.
Meet the Team
Justin spent 20 years at Morgan Stanley, rising to Managing Director, before co-founding an FCA-regulated investment firm and later an AI venture. After his own hip replacement in 2025, he built JointEffort to bridge the gap between hospital discharge and follow-up.
Dr. Hooper is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Clinical Assistant Professor at a leading West Coast medical school. She directs the outpatient joint replacement program at a major academic outpatient surgery center and specializes in total hip replacement (THR) and total knee replacement (TKR).
